    Delta Air Cleaner Help?

Anyone have any experience with either the Delta AP200 or the Delta 50-875 cleaners?

I was going to buy the AP200, but Amazon raised the price from $169 to $209. As long as I'm spending $209, I might as well consider the 50-875.

Anyway, anyone have experience with either of these two? I like the idea of a remote, since I plan to hang it on the celing of my garage, but I could live without it. I think that the 850 CFM of the AP200 would probably be fine for me, but the three speeds would also be nice.

Also, if anyone has these, how well do the filters work? They end up being a money pit or do they last awhile?

    Thanks for the help!

Look toward the bottom for air cleaners, they rate the AP-200 as a best buy.

I have the Delta 3 speed unit in my small basement shop. It works great. The lower speed makes a bit less noise, so I usually use that when I am working, except when cutting MDF. The timer is wonderful as you can leave the shop, leave the unit running for several hours and it trremendously reduces that fine covering of dust that show up the next day. The unit is overkill for my small shop, but I was fortunate to get it on close out several years ago from Lowes. Hope this helps.

        Thanks for the PDF!

So it looks like for $40, I would get:
        - An extra 400 CFM (it'll be in a 2-car garage, so I'm not sure that's a big deal)
        - 3 speeds
        - remote control
        - Washable filter.

Sound like it's worth it? I'm guessing the internal filter is the one that's washable, and since it looks like those are each $50 or so, maybe the washable filter is worth it.

I have the Delta 50-860 the one-speed, no remote, no timer predecessor to the 50-875. It's 800 cfm.
          A 2-car garage (mine is 22x22x8) is 3872
Adding 25% for a pyramid open rafter roof, is 4840 cu ft.
so you get 10 changes per hour with 800 CFM. I think the recommended is at least 6 changes per hour?

I have put it on one of those timers you can set for 0-15 hours. I use it when I sand or use the CMS or other activity which puts dust in the air. Set the timer for several hours and let it expire after I go to bed.

I have not washed or replaced the inner pleated filter, I have replaced the outer furnace type filter; I think its compatible with the
ones you can get for HVAC home use.

I recently took the plunge for the 3 speed monster, Amazon got it to my house 36 hours after I placed the order, and shipping was free. The cleaner makes ALL the difference in the world. I took down an old plaster and lathe wall in my floks house, and this thing really did a number on all of that dust as well. I run my shop with no DC and this unit still keeps me 'clean'

i have the jet 1000a and i love it. the remote signal will "bounce"off the wall so you don't have to have a straight shot. i would get the one with the remote and variable speed. the delta looks good. i don't think there is anything magic about my jet. it works well. timer feature is great. it cleans everything up while i'm gone...
