Printing woes... is it just me?

It seems that when I try to print a thread, the printer always clips the right edge of the text. This because the text as a finite minimum width, I think--in other words, if you make the window more narrow the text stays the same width.

While the best solution would be a "Print This Thread" option that would nicely format all the text from ALL the pages of the thread and print them out, an alternative might be simply to change the minimum width of the text to be something that prints within the constrains of an 8" wide paper (with allowance for common printer margins).

Don't know if printers vary too much to make this practical or useful, but thought I should at least ask.

Great site! Just want to take some of it with me sometimes.

Have you found/tried the "Show Printable Version" option that's under "Thread Tools"? Located at the very top of the thread, about halfway across.

With Firefox, it's possible under the Page Setup menu to set page margins and/or shrink the page to fit the paper width. I've already forgotten what Internet Exploder allows in this regard.

Are you using IE6? If so, having the right side clipped is normal.
IE7 corrects this Microsoft 'feature'. It's in Beta 3 now and solid. I've been using it for months, love the Tabs and secutity.

Have the same problem when printing out some of the threads. IE 7.0 sounds like it could cure the problem. Currently using IE 6.0.

Will look for the "show printable version" feature and see if that helps.

          David,

If all else fails, shoe the thread in "printable version", and then take a screen shot.

kinda of clugey, but its better then nothing.
