    Updates

Hey everybody Sam wanted me to make a post that he is still working on the site so it works in everybody's browser. Please be patient with the site for the next couple of days. Also if you email him he might not get back to you as quickly as usual.

    Thanks for your patience,

    Adele

    For those interested...

I would estimate that 95% of BT3Central is now HTML 4.01 compliant. The main part that is NOT compliant is the forum. Since I didn't write the forum code I am not rushing headlong into making it 100% compliant. All of my code, including the site header and the site navigation menu on the left is 100% compliant.

I have Snitz on my test environment here at the house and will slowly widdle away what I can to try and make it compliant. Don't expect results anytime soon.

    <h1>What this means to you:</h1>
The site should be 100% compatible with all generation 6 and higher browsers, including but not limited to Internet Explorer 6+, Netscape 6+, Mozilla Firebird, Opera, Safari, etc. There are other browsers that it IS compatible with but I have failed to list here. The site IS NOT compatible with Netscape 4.x or Internet Explorer 4.x or lower. This was a "business decision" that I have made. I have finally decided that ensuring that the site works for any possible browser that MAY OR MAY NOT hit my site is just impractical. This seems to be a fairly common move for many high-traffic websites, as I have found several notices like the following:

    http://www.lexpublib.org/standards.cfm

Though the layout has not changed very much visually it has been re-written from the ground up to be more accessible. There are no doubt some bugs to work out, and I will continue to fix problems as they are reported to me.

    Thanks,
    Sam Conder

OK I have noticed my Netscape 4.x has been acting strange here and elsewhere. The 7.x version has been ok until today. Right noe the 4.x looks better than the 7.x. As I type this it is in a small space at the far right of the screen. And I can not read the posts because half of each post is off the page. Hopefully it will be an easy fix :-)

On my (very nice) HP 1825 flat panel (1280 x 1024) only today (not yesterday), everything is suddenly "jammed" across to the right - heaps of white background on the left. White space varies depending on whether I'm looking at a list of posts or an actual post. Make sense?

          Like This?

Seems to come and go in Firebird. Sorry for the big pic, It's a screengrab and when I try to compress it gets fuzzy and muttled.

P.S. new picture, a little fuzzy but you get the jist of it. No sense bogging down our Dial up members.

I am happy again. Just this weekend the screen has returned to normal. I use Opera 6.01

            Thanks,

            John

Well....I use Explorer 6. I always get the white screen when clicking a change here and I get it too long for my liking sometimes but I live with it....no problem. What I HAVE noticed since the site was changed is that the screen is often crowded a little off the right of my screen and I have to scoot it over a little to read the posts. I don't know why this is happening but it just started after Sam made the change.

New problem this morning. When viewing the posts in Netscape 7.x I can't read the entire post. The right side is cut off just by a couple of words. I can scroll over some but not enough to read the entire post.

To explain a little further, in the above post where it says "The right side is cut off" it is cut off at "righ" in the word right.
