    Fair warning...

    BT3Central members, visitors, and others...

As we approach the one year anniversary of the forum here at BT3Central.com, it has become CRITICAL that I migrate the forum database from it's current MS Access database to MySQL for performance and reliability issues. The Access database is just getting too dern big for it's own good.

So, Since I will be off of work for two full weeks for Christmas (*woohoo*) I have decided to devote a portion of that time to migrating the forum's database to my MySQL server. I will most likely do this in the days immediatly following Christmas Day, since I will be home and my boys will be preoccupied playing with their new toys.

    [u]What this means to you:</u>

In order to do this, I will have to shut down the forum for an extended period of time. Maybe even as long as 48 hours. Consider this post your "first warning" of this event, but I will post an exact date and time by the middle of next week. Also, please keep in mind that the only thing affected during this transition will be the forum. The Jigs, Fixtures, & Info section, the auctions, the Rockler Links, and all other aspects of the site will remail fully functional.

Thanks for your continued support and participation,

        You go Conder!

Besides, MS Access is not a good utility to have to recover from.

I think I speak for everyone here when I say; Thank you!
Putting all this together has to pull you out of the shop more than any of us likes. I sure do appreciate the hard work and the great environment!
A bit of down time is inevitable from time to time.
          Thanks again!

JUST DO IT! The reliability and speed that will come with running MYSQL will be worth the mometary inconvienince. Besides our spouses will greatly appreciate the extra attention as we look for other way to fill our time during the conversion.-
