I have been busy with driving rideshare since the job market sucks and I need to pay bills. My car is presently sick so with a down day I figured I would get after some overdue projects...
With 2 printers, a vinyl cutter, 4 3D printers (I bought 2, 2 of them ended up orphaned in my office...) my home office was getting CROWDED, especially with IT spares such as boxes of cabling, used switches and network interfaces etc... (Anyone wanna build out a gigabit network? I went to 2.5Gb...). Anyway I decided to go VERTICAL.
Got some of those Vevor 5 tier garage type shelving unilts. 24" x 48" x not quite 72"...
https://amzn.to/47PcZwj
Only using 4 of the 5 tiers. Bottom and top for storage, middle lower for the short 3D printers, upper middle for the sublimation and regular office printers. Vinyl cutter going to the now orphaned 4' folding plastic table... Top tier is going to be light stuff storage, buttom tier is for heavy stuff storage...
Banged these together fairly quickly and while not exactly Home Depot shelving quality steel, as good or better than regular garage shelving. A LOT better than the plastic shelving I have in my shed, and a LOT less expensive and more adjustable than building with 2x4s and plywood...
My only real gripe about it is the actual shelving material. 7mm MDF. Good enough for printers and IT storage stuff, but as garage / shop shelves I would NOT use these, Maybe replace with at least some decent 1/2" plywood....
I did buy 2 of these units. Found I only needed one. Ooops...
Pretty sure once I get the shop sorted out, I can put the second one to use out there... Or in the shed.
