this is a table i recently made to house my bts10 and router top.

Don't you need to extend the miter slot through the sides of the table
top to make the slot usable? Otherwise the miter gage travel is extremely limited.

Or, maybe you seldom use the miter slot and it doens't matter.

No, you can turn the miter gauge around so that the long end is toward you.
