    Shop Made Toolbox

Just finished another project that I had been wanting to do for a long time. For years I have clipped out photos and articles from magazines about shop made toolboxes, looking for ideas and encouragement to build one that would fit my style of woodworking. Also wanted it to go with all of my home-made shop cabinets.

The box is 32" wide. The base is 24" deep and 36 high. The top is 18" deep and 26 high. The five big drawers used slides left over from other projects. All the small drawers have wooden slides.

Now all I have to do is go shopping to get more tools to fill it up. <grin>

If your only tool is a hammer, you tend to treat all problems as if they were nails.

Very nice! Do you ever expect to use those handles to lift those boxes?

            WOW!

It looks like it matches the other cabinetry in your shop. Nice job, indeed.

Naw. The bottom handles are just so I can pull the boxes around. Come to think about it, the handles on the top box were used to lift it up onto the base. Only took four of us…

Here's a photo showing construction. Simple stuff!

As usual, beautiful job using your system of simplified cabinet construction. I had just received your book on that system and was highlighting pertinent steps when I got my pins kicked out from under me. I don't believe that I'll ever be handling that size piece of sheet goods ever again. Thanks for the autograph, BTW.
                    Blessings,
                    Chiz
