    One More Shop Update

Credit where credit is due. My FIL spent the last fewweeks painting the trim for me. I never got to it before the weather turned and it didn't look like I was going to get to it any time soon. Plus I don't really like painting.

This is how the shop exterior looked last Septemberish:

    Here's how it looks now:

Looks great! Do you have a link to any picture of what's inside of it?

Looks good. It could be a cover picture for House Beautiful.

That looks great. Pretty neat to have a FIL that does that kind of stuff.

I can understand getting tired towards the end of a long project, but how could you not want to cherry out that shop by doing the finish paint? That is the icing on the cake and it looks great. Your FIL has an IOU on you for a 6 pack and a pizza!!

Cubsfan, this thread has pictures of the inside.

Chopnack, I had to get the inside done because I had to be out of the basement 6mos earlier than I thought. By the time the inside was done it was too cold to paint. Plus my FIL said he would do it before they left for the cabin. He finished it last week while we were out of town.

That looks great David... Your shop is really a sight to behold! Since you are done, more or less, you going to start getting projects out of it now?

                    Looks good.

Can I borrow your FIL? (painting is on my to do list this year)
She couldn't tell the difference between the escape pod, and the bathroom. We had to go back for her.........................Twice.

Did you spray the siding? If so, what equipment and paint did you use, and do you have any advice for spraying siding?

                        Thanks.

I sprayed it with a Graco MX2 that I got used on CL. It is the entry-level airless sprayer that is several notches above the Wagner ones that everybody hates. It pulls paint directly from the can. Wagner sells the Paint Crew that has a hopper you pour paint into, but the hopper is one more thing that has to be cleaned. The paint was Behr from HD. As far as the actual spraying goes, just use good technique. Keep the gun pointed perpendicular to the siding and don't start or stop the paint unless the gun is moving.

As far as projects go... I have to finish the router table and put shelves under the acc. table on the PM66 so I can move some smaller bench tools there to get my benches back. Then I will build a thien separator and start a picture frame or two.
