    Garages and tools

It is that time of year for the humidity to kick in around here and I want to protect my tools. I keep a lot of my tools in the house and just moved them outside as needed. I am in the process of building cabinets in the workshop so I don't need to continue this practice. What spray products are you using to protect router bits, wrenches, etc that is "wood safe"?

At the cabin I can blast everything with WD40, etc to protect any tools left there for the year and not care about any issues related to word working.

I can't imagine your area could get any hotter, or more humid than the Gulf Coast....

All my cast iron stuff gets a liberal coating of Johnson's Paste Wax.

My router bits I buy in sets in cases MOSTLY... And those that did not come in a case, are in a gladware tub with a foam block. All of the cases / tubs get a silica Gel pack tossed in at the beginning of summer. For the most part this is working VERY well. My turning tools not so well... My sweaty hands are taking their toll on them... Looks like Johnsons Paste Wax for them too!

FWIW, my mechanics tools have been in either this garage, or one I worked in professionally for 20 + years. 16 of them in the Texas Gulf Coast... I do not have rust problems on anything other than like I mentioned, my turning tools...
