I have been working on the D/C System

I have started setting up the New Dust Collector by running 6" PVC SDR35 Duct work around one side and the end of the shop. I installed three 45* "T's" and will put in Gates at each of these drops. Here are some pictures as I know you guys like pictures. Took me a while to figure a method I could live with to hang the pipes but finally did it. Made cutouts in 2X4's and used Nylon Straps screwed to them to hold the PVC up. I think it will work great. I used Clear silicone at each of the joints.

    Gary,

    That's coming along real nice...

Is your DC capable of 6" from the factory, or did you mod it?

Very neat! Just need to trim the tops of the two on the short end
      Downunder ... 1" = 25.4mm

DB, It is the Grizzly G0548Z @ Horsepower D/C and has a 6" inlet. Making kind of a special deal on the Thien Cyclone Separator and I hope it works out. Going to be the garbage can setup with a little twist to it. Get some photo's up when I'm done.

Nice setup. Very clean and I like the way you've engineered the bends. Nice brackets, too!

It looks like it's going to be a heckuva shop.

That is really cool! It looks like you spent a lot of time planning that out, nice work so far. Do they not make long sweep 45's in sdr? I read somewhere that they create less turbulence. Awesome setup!

DB, Yes it is a side inlet on the collector.

Chop, It was hard enough finding the pieces I have. Seems that they don't use a lot of the 6" stuff so they don't stock the pieces. I credit my Nixa Ace Hardware plumbing dept. for looking up the items I wanted and ordering them for me. Took time but I go plenty of that God Willing.

That's true Gary, the 6" is usually not stocked at the big box stores, but some of the larger pro plumbing shops stock them, so if you get into a bind or want to change anything look one up in your area. Happy plumbing...er...dc'ing!

I do a lot of sewer installation. They do have the long sweet tee-wye's you are looking for but you can really only get them from businesses who sell to companies like ours and they rarely if ever sell to the public. You could have had them order gasketed wye's for you. It would have made it a lot easier to work with if you ever had to clear a blockage or move things around.
