One other detail - as for the contact cement, I wonder if I can get by with a couple of quarts rather than a full gallon? Coverage required is about 54 sq. ft. including both surfaces (4 ft. x 6 ft. lamination) and I'm planning on using a smooth texture roller. It looks like Grainger has the original DAP solvent-based formula for about 8 bucks per quart which sure beats the $38.00 per gallon I saw earlier.

I prefer solvent based CC. If you use it make sure you have plenty of ventilation, and using a respirator is a good idea. Having a lot of surfaced glued up gets very aeromatic. As for rollers, the box stores sell a roller cover (9") that is intended for adhesives. It's not like a paint roller.

1 qt will be more than enough for what you are doing. If you can get pint size, do that.

I'll have to remember your trick of breaking off a corner to get a discount, next time I buy some laminate.
