    Progress of my new Shop

I'm building a 40x48 shop. Right now the plan is to just get it enclosed so that I can start moving the stuff that I have stewn all over 2 counties in storage into one central location.

Not going to be putting a floor or any of the interior walls into the building yet.

Eventually I'd like to wall of an area 24x24 to have as a dedicated garage and the rest will be woodworking/storage. Also planning on adding a second floor to the shop for more storage or an extra living space. But I'm waiting to do that until after we finish the house, which who knows when that'll even start.

I've got a page that I setup describing the progress that we've made if you're interested.

That's going to be a huge space when finished! I'm envious. How high are the walls? They look to be about 20' or more.

Man - that is a heck of a project!!!

It looks more like a house going up rather than just a shop. Cant wait to see how it all finishes.

Gee, why do I hate you? Let me count the ways; 1) You are building a shop that would house nearly everything I own. 2) You have family who can and does help you out on such a huge project. 3) You are healthy enough to handle this kind of project. 3) You live in beautiful country. 4) You have a Ford 4x CUT 5) Aww heck, I'm just plain envious!!

I wouldn't be too hasty abut moving your tools into a shop with a dirt floor, though. The moisture is going to eat them up, don't you think?
              Blessings,

Yeah, currently most of my tools are in my grandfather's barn which has a dirt floor. Before we bought our house I setup shop in that barn and never had a rust problem. Ideally I would wait until I had the shop completely finished before moving anything into it so that I won't have to move stuff around that will be undoubtedly in the way but this is the best option I have available.

Wow! Great play by play on the shop build Eric! The pics make me miss all the days I spent traveling through your neighborhood. I must convince LOML that we need to come over and visit one of these weekends.

Might be up your way in August. Have to bring the Grand Son home to Meridian and then was hoping to go home by way of Post Falls and see a good friend. Just will have to what the gas prices are by then. They came down by .10 this past week, but will probably go evern higher than they were. Nice look Garage/Shop. Insulate it well I understand it get mighty cold up there.

You reminded me of some friends who moved here to south-central PA from your Pocatello. One day she called my wife and said that she found a 'funny' smell in her hamper but couldn't figure out what it was. It turned out that she had tossed wet towels in there and they had mildewed. She said that she always did that back home and they just dried out. A difference in relative humidity it seems. Nice work, Eric!
