The ring diameter is 20" which is a common size for DCs, you'll find lots of stuff to fit.
I bought the grizzly canister (now down to $149 I see!)

You'l also need plastic catch bags for the bottom:

Question for you, Loring. Seeing that Grizz is charging $6 for one plastic bag and other bags are only 4 mil I have an issue with the cost of the former and the thickness of the latter. Due to the congested location of my DC I'll be tearing these bags in a heartbeat. What would you say the gallon capacity of the stock lower bag is so that I can consider the purchase of some large plastic bags at a janitor's supply house. I would line the original with them and then, when partially filled, remove the combo, tie the plastic bag and remove it for disposal. At this point I pull the filled original, haul it to the burn pile and eat dust as I empty it (that's just figuartive since I wear a mask).

      TIA!
      Blessings,
      Chiz

Chiz, I'm afraid I just linked to the first bags I saw.

These are actually the ones I bought:
        http://www.pennstateind.com/store/dcpb7.html

They've gone up a bit but less than the Grizz canister has gone down.
7 mil bags, I have used 1-1/2 so far. they don't tear easily.

I really think double bagging would be a nightmare as slippery as the bages are against each other you'll have **** getting them on. At $2.20 apiece, I can throw them away every year. Trying to reuse them would be messy, isn;t that one of theings we are trying to eliminate?

There are some other plastic DC bags out there, too, you want a 20" dia. 40 gallon bag spec'd like the Penn state one. I think Jet sells some, too. I just haven't looked recently.

Chiz, perhaps you can beat me to running an experiment that I have been intending to try as soon as my next bag change is due.

I *think* there may be just enough room between the supports for the inlet ring of my HF DC to slide in one of those big Rubbermaid 32/33 gallon plastic garbage cans ... it may have to be deformed slightly, but that's no problem since it's plastic ... which can then be lined with a heavy "contractor's" trash bag. When the can is full, the top of the bag (which should be more than big enough to fit around the inlet ring) can be twisted shut and the whole works dragged to the burn pile. (Like you, I burn my sawdust.)

I saw this idea, or something similar, in a magazine somewhere not too long ago, so I've some confidence it will work. I figure that even if I only let the bag get half full before disposing of it, the economy of these bags (about a quarter a piece, IIRC) and security of having the garbage can protecting the bag will make it a pretty good solution to several problems.

I put the old cloth 30 mil bag over the plastic bag. My DC is in the direct line of fire for foot traffic and this setup provides excellent protection. It is not harder to install than plastic bag alone.

When full, I just "drop trou" on the cloth bag and slipt the plastic bag out.
