Another 220V question - use of 30A dryer outlet

    OK,

I am moving to a house with a garage. In the garage there is a 220V 30A dryer outlet. We will not be using this outlet for our dryer as we have a gas dryer.

I am thinking about getting a 2 hp 17" bandsaw, rated 220V 10A, and a dust collector rated 220V 12.5A. The bandsaw can also run off a 110V 20A outlet.

Can these two "safely" be run together off this single 220V 30A dryer outlet? Or should I get two 220V 15A dedicated outlets installed (recommended by supplier)? (would rather not, cost a lot of $$$$, and I don't own the house, but I don't want it to catch fire and burn either.).

    Thanks!
    Joern.

The total load will be 23 Amps with both running at the same time.
So a 30A circuit should easily handle it.
One thing you might consider is making a short extension cord with
two receptacles. I don;t know if that's up to code entirely BUT it's not like it on unattended running machinery, and you take it with you when you go so there's no alteration of the house.

I'm sure somebody will pipe up if that's not safe.
