Small Addition to Shop for DC

Broke ground on new 4' x 4.5' addition to the shop for DC storage. My goals are to 1) increase floor space 2) decrease noise 3) decrease dust and 4) make chip dumps easier. I am planning on adding on a much larger addition or purchasing a detached shed later this year for lawn equipment, bikes, storage etc. I contemplated dividing off a section for a DC room but decided against that idea. As such I am adding 4' x 4.5' room to the back of the shop.
Headroom for the tall cyclone is a concern, so I will be digging out the foundation a little. Additionally, I need to be able to fit in there to switch from exterior exhausting to interior exhausting. My plan is to be able to reclaim heat and air during those extreme months by routing the exhaust back into the shop and using the 1 micron bag that came with the unit. During non-heated and ac months I will switch over to exterior venting.
Luckily I will be able to use the hole that I cut in back of the shop for exterior venting as a opening for the main duct run. I plan on running 6" mains, drops, etc to newly constructed 6" dust hoods for TS, jointer and planer. I will use a 6" flex to bandsaw where it will split to (2) 4". This flex will have a quick connect which I can move over to my SCMS station.

Ya, about 75% of it. The rest is lawn equipment and other crap that I need to get out of there. Once I get everything organized this Summer I am going to try to put together a shop tour pics or video.

Nice shop building.... and when my lovely decides to visit brothers and sisters over in the Johnstown-Altoona area, I can just drop her off and head over to "our" PA. shop. Let me know when "we're" ready to move in!

BTW... I would help with the ducting, but I think I have a scheduled appointment with my parole officer that week-end, whenever that week-end is! ha.. ha...

Mixed and poured slab today. Let it cure for a few days and I will frame and get a roof over it. Then its moving time for the DC. I fear I can't get it in there once it is enclosed!

24 x 20 I think. The plan was for 26 x 22 but the builder screwed up and built standard 2 car garage.

Today I put up two walls and header. Very bad weather just hit and stopped my production today. Huge winds. We'll see how good my framing is after this!

Update

Well today I got the header and rafters installed as well as most of the roof sheathing before rain interfered again. It is good enough shape now that I can move the DC into the room. Plan on doing that tomorrow with the help of one super Moderator on this forum.

The Eagle Has Landed

Thanks to a hand and hacksaw from super moderator Thom, the cyclone unit has made it to its new home. I managed to get the roofing put on yesterday so everything is nice and dry inside. Unfortunately, due to unforseen circumstances (me not measuring height of new room) my cyclone is now 10" shorter! Thom wielded a hacksaw and took 10" of length off of each of the 3 legs. This was easily compensated for by removing 10" of the connector which connects the lid and the cyclone. Current barrel still work, but wont likely be able to move up to 55 gallon. I put the switch on the inside of the building. Now all that is left is plumbing all the 6" mains and connectors, installing door to outside room and installing siding. Thank goodness I have not taken metal cutting jigsaw to my TS and made it 6" yet! I will update with final photos soon.
