    "Grinder" add-on

I recently replaced my old grinder – didn’t use it much anyway.

This one appealed because of the belt on the right side, but…

I didn’t like the dinky tool rest they provided, so I bought one and then had to work out how to set it up. Time was spent 80% planning/measuring, 20% making. Attachment had to be around the brackets hold the whole thing up.

The whole setup is a retrofit – my original grinder was smaller than this one. I had nowhere else to put it and I didn’t want to rebuild the base it sits on.

As well as the stand for the tool rest, I made up a square “elbow” for DC – works fine.

Nothing exciting, but may give you some ideas…

Gotcha! On the tool rest stand - none, but...

The square elbow is MDF and the base is all MDF (top laminated) - so there!

          Looks great Rod!!

Been meaning to ask, is it a law down there that any jigs, patterns, accessories, etc that are built must use MDF somewhere??!!

Pardon my ignorance, but is there no dust "down under"? My shop never looks like that, so I'm figuring that it must be a northern/southern hemisphere thing.

No - just the forum comedians that give me a hard time because I like using it - where it's appropriate of course
