    As promised...

    ...a few more pics:

    Here's the full frontal:

The DC plumbing in back connects the DC for the BT3, and the router compartment through blast gates into a wye fitting. I used enough flex hose on the BT3 connection to allow for tilting the blade. The router compartment just has a 4" S&D pipe shoved in snug, with a couple screws for good measure. The blast gates can be reached from over the top of the table.

Hose from BT3 removed for clarity:

Here's a double shot of the rail clamps in action. The fence is halfway off the table so you can see how the clamps attach:

          Welcome to BT3Central!

Selling the plans could get a little sticky, as I've ripped off most of the good ideas from the others here. Maybe if you consider joining our humble group, and, if you like what you see, donate some support, I could give you what I have. I leave that up to you.

Then there's the fact that I don't really have any plans, but I do have a drawing. If you have Microsoft Visio (2003), I could even send that file. Let me know.

              GREAT!

              1) Don't your drawer slides suck up wood dust? [I.e., would drawer fronts be worth the bother?]

              2) Doesn't the DC from the rear suck out all the wood dust from the router compartment? I am building my table, and I had expected one DC collection point would be totally adequate.

              THANKS!

I do not have a problem at all with sending a donation the site's way I have already recieved loads of great information from this site. I had purchased this saw on a whim with no research (kind of a spur of the moment thing) and it looks like I made a great decision.

I do have Visio 2k3 as thats whats I use to design software.

edit: Hrmm looks like I am having difficulty locating a the donate button.

                  I love when that happens!

If you send me a PM with an e-mail address, I can e-mail my visio file to you.

oh, yeah, I see what you mean about finding a donate button. If you go to your main login page, there's a box to the left of your login name/avatar called site navagation. There's an item called "fund drive"....

Oops, looks like I missed your post, Doug.

I was concerned about the drawer slides, too, but so far, they're ok. The top surface gets a bit dusty, but dust doesn't really get in to the working surfaces much at all. Certainly not to the point that I think it'll "gum up the works". So, for me, I don't think drawer fronts are worth the bother.

Re: router DC connections. Just to be clear, that front hole in the door is just an air inlet so the DC has enough airflow in certain situations. When you're cutting dados, e.g., there's not much air flow from the top, so there won't be enough airflow to collect the dust that's falling into the router compartment.

In fact, I usually treat the DC connection on the fence as an air inlet; rather than having a hose connected to it, I let air come in there and take the chips down through the router compartment.

                    Regards,
                    Tom

Great job Tom. We need to have Mr. Kirby give you some tips about how to make your shop show-off pics. Seriously though, you have an obivious talent for well thought out design and great workmanship.
