    Push-down clamp source?

I have several jigs still on my to do list, and each requires two push down clamps. Rockler has the small ones at $12 (http://www.rockler.com/product.cfm?page=10397), and the larger ones are $17 each, which can get spendy pretty quickly.

Does anyone know of another source at lower cost?

Not sure if the size is right for what you want to do but HF has a similar clamp with a "T" handle for less than $6. I've used them on jigs with good success.

These are some similar ones for $4.50 each discussed recently.

FYI: I recently bought some toggle clamps on ebay for I think a pretty good price. Here is a listing from the same seller (not affiliated). http://cgi.ebay.com/6-TOGGLE-CLAMPS-VISE-HOLD-DOWN-HOLDDOWN-JIG-WOODWORKING_W0QQitemZ4452908830QQcategoryZ20761QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem For about $4.50 per clamp (including

They look similar to the Rockler ones and certainly big enough (4" clamp arm / 500lb)
Ordered 6 at $4.00 Shipping was high, but still a good deal.

I am thinking about the same issue... maybe these ideas will help...

One possibility - use screw down knobs or cam clamps with hold down bars - they work better / worse depending on your application. The cams cost $7 (they were under $4 last month) and the hold down bars are $4 at Rockler. Or you could make your own hold down bars... Hold Down Bars and Cam Clamps

            ...OR...

I was very impressed by the recent Drill Press Table thread (thread)

It started me thinking about making the hold down clamps easily transferable [bear with me - I'm making this up as I go] -
First, I think that I would only use any particualar jigs occasionally, but when I used it I would probably use the same jig repeatedly.
Second, I liked the flexibility of locating the hold down in JWaterDawg's table, and
Third, maybe I could design my jigs w/ T tracks or other hold downs that made it a snap to move a mounted hold down (whatever style) from one jig to another

            ...OR...

maybe I should start taking my dementia meds!
