Well I'm too tall (6'2") so for me I *have* to have the TS at about 42". But the bandsaw is *way* too high so I'm going to re-do the base on it at the same time so it is down to 42" like the rest.
Since I'm re-doing the bench and whatnot I'm now thinking of perhaps raising the bench height like RMoore did (ts @ 42, bench @ 48). Going to have to play with this idea and see!

I have to agree with everyone here, that's one sweet setup. Nothing like being able to get the truck in the garage WITH the table saw!

                    Nice job.

Took measurements and did some mock-ups with stacked boards and whatnot. For me, having the TS that much lower than the workbench doesn't work out for my height. Having the WB about 1/2" lower than the TS (and the planer) does.

What I did discover is that the jointer can be moved under the WB in a cubby-like area (where either it rolls in @ 90 degrees to the bench, or in a shallow depression that has shelving in the back of it, this I have not yet decided as to which way), and even more so if I mod the carriage of the jointer to make it a "low rider" dropping it an additional 2 inches.

My hat is off to Mr. Moore for providing us with some serious inspiration!

Nice looking set-up. Thanks to a member I've just purchased a set of full rails, and am starting a mobile setup very much like yours. Two questions. How are your "extra" rails mounted? It looks as if they are mounted to the "2 by 2s" which seem to sit (fastened to?) on the cabinet. I was thinking of mounting to front and back of cabinet I'm building, whose top would be a 42" combined extension table/router table at the same hight as original tables. (Sorry for the poor description) Would this work, or do I need to mount to rails on top of cabinet and then have table sit on rails similar to yours?

Second, any "spec" issues with respect to router table? For example how far is bit centre from front edge of table, or other considerations you would suggest or mistakes in design not to make?

I can only hope my end result is half as nice (and functional) as yours.

Please ignore my first question about mounting rails. My new ones just arrived complete with mounting hardware, so I've got that figured out. I would still be interested in any words of wisdom you may have on spec's for the 40"+ router table.

I can only hope my end result is half as nice (and functional) as yours.

I will create another topic in "finished projects" in next day or so, Im know that several people made these combos (in fact I got alot of my ideas there) so for your benefit, I will post more detailed photos on saw with construction considerations. Im sure that this way, you will get much more replies and ideas.....give me a few days though...Im right in the middle of building a box beam ceiling for living room....
