I have been hauling tail all over Houston metro driving rideshare as the IT job market is beyond horrible lately so I haven't had time to do any projects, but what time I have had I have....
#1. Gotten the new full mattress for the bed.
#2. Gotten my plaform measurements and double / triple checked them. Going to get the plywood tomorrow. 3/4" sheating grade. Don't need any better than that.
Each sheet cut 67-1/4" long x 26-3/8" wide
Wham bam slam the plaform in, set the mattress up and call that done. I know lazy but I am TIRED of the dinette halves sliding apart at 2 A.M. and giving me an aching back by morning.
#3. Stock for the countertop, white oak 3/4 ply is roughly cut to size. Need to get final dimensions and get them cut.
#4. Routing templates out of 1x2 stock for the sink and stove cutouts done.
#5. Practice with the corner rounding templates. No problem using carpet tape. Use the same stuff for the sink / stove templates
#6. Got the bartop epoxy kit for the countertop.
Plan for tomorrow. Finish the bed, grab some disposable brushes, mixing container, and some Special Walnut stain, get the final size for the countertop and start making those cuts. Assuming good weather route out the sink / stove holes, do the corner rounding and bullnose the countertop. Once done fill and voids, sand smooth and get to finishing...
NEXT assuming I have time to do it, rip some 3/4" x 3/4" sections for the extensions to the shorty cabinet since I am matching heights here, cut to proper length and prep / finish with the special walnut and some poly.
Size up / fab a "backer frame" for the main panel in the cabinet so I can convert to flip up counter to side door style.
From behind use the backer frame as a routing template to cut the opening.
Cut a T slot in the opening.
Swap countertops, installing the riser piece in the process.
Pull T molding off of original countertop install in T slot.
Temporarily hang a piece of heavy curtain in the door opening so I can....
Install / plumb the stove and the sink.
Enjoy the fruits of my labor while I decide on how to do the door or doors....
