    Another Stupid Act

Some time ago, I bought several small jars of solvent based Color Putty. I like the product as it fills easily, doesn't shrink, can be varnished over, and comes in a wide range of wood tones. Well I dug a jar out to putty in the nail holes on the trim I had reinstalled the other day and found fairly dried out. Fortunately, it's solvent based, so a little mineral spirits got it back to usable. Then I looked at the other jars and found them in various stages of drying out. So now I'm trying to save each jar with MS and mixing. This will take some time.

Sounds frugal and productive to me. I think I'm missing the stupid act part.

The stupid part was buying so many and not using them, thus letting them dry out. It will take weeks with daily stirring (chunking) to reconstitute them.

Update: I have one jar that seems to have fully cured and so far, hasn't responded to the solvent. Another is coming along nicely and others are in various stages of maybe becoming usable.
