    Try out one of those scarf joints that them japanese fellas did that loring posted the other day . Looked plenty strong to me.

      I like the scarf joints with the nibs. I use it whenever I install base boards. If U need it stronger add the key, good link to the illustrations Hank.

      I have made finger joints with my router table just had to make an extension table for the longer boards. I bought the bit from Grizzly, and I used Gorilla glue. They have more surface area to apply your glue so they become very strong and stable.

        I agree that finger joints are stronger, but in the field they are very hard to make. If someone would come up with a grip the wood/cut finger joint machine like a biscuit cutter , now that would be good away from the shop!
