I am building a small box, with a door opening on the front. I want the exterior to appear to be solid, with no opening. I am using barrel hinges. I would like to use a magnetic catch on the other side, but I want it hidden from the outside--and inside for that matter since the door is Lexan.
Can I use rare earth magnets for this? I've never used them, so not sure how strong they are. I don't want it super strong, but I don't want it to fall open, either. Would I use one on one side and use a screw or something on the other side? Any other hardware options? I am going to Woodcraft tomorrow and don't have time to order--last minute Christmas gift, of course.
