I am trying to repair/ restore a jewelry box that was damaged in my daughters house fire a few years ago. It was smoke damaged and scorched. It was originally stained, but it will have to be painted to repair it. This is not a high dollar jewelry box, but my mother gave it to her when she graduated from high school and she is highly attached to it.
I can't find a source for the little spinning necklace hanger that is attached the top of the box. There were two of them and one melted. The other is unharmed. They are a brown plastic. The only thing I could find are brass ones from, I think Woodcraft, but they are 39.99 each. The brass will not go well, and I wanted to spend much less than that. Does anyone have a source? They are about 3" across.
Thanks for the help!
