Maybe you yachtsmen can answer this question. I remember the TV series Adventures In Paradse, and was wondering if the schooner "Tiki III" in the series was a Morgan?

Was a kid in the 60's and vaguely remember the tv show. Did a search and found some YouTube videos. But, here's a link to some info on the Tiki III: http://capitainetroy.free.fr/eng/details.html
Soon time to put in the new floor in the front cabin. I'm having a hard time spending almost $900 for 3 sheets of this:
I am contemplating routing grooves in plywood and cutting strips to inlay. What wood would you use for the inlay?
You would still have to buy a marine grade teak veneer ply. Typically holly is used for the strips. The amount of work involved to install those strip though is huge.
What is it they say again about pouring money into a hole in the water?
Have you got some pictures to show about your progress?
Cheers,
Tim
Sometimes my mind wanders. It's always come back though......sofar!
Wonder how it would work if you squeeged in cream colored epoxy into the slits instead of installing inserts? Then sand the whole sheet like grinding a floor, like you were going to have to do anyway with the inserts. It wouldn't come out thats for sure.

I would doubt my ability to route (or dado set on TS) grooves that were consistently parallel and then mill strips of wood to a consistent width and thickness.
