    Draw Leaf Table plans?

My daughter and SIL have decided I should build them a dining room table for their newly constructed home ... sounds good to me.

Oh ... there are some "specific dimension" requirements ... OK

BUT we want to be able to "extend" the table on special occasions ... OK

Oh ... we REALLY like these old style "Draw Leaf" designs ... OK

OOPS ... I'm having a real difficult time finding available plans for that particular design ... apparently Grizzly "used to have one available" ... maybe I'm just not looking in the right place ...

    Anyone?

this is for a draw leaf gaming table. you should be able to modify to suit the size table you are building.

              Appreciate the help!

Hi DannyT and welcome to the forum!

The game table link will help a lot!

I had printed the Tage Frid plan during my research and think with that and the pics in the sawmillcreek link I should be able to noodle it out.

              Thanks for the help!

OP, did you ever build this table? I want to build one, too, and wanted to know how yours turned out.

                Thanks,
                Paul

The sawmillcreek table looks like a reasonable build but has a bunch of parts that you would benefit from having dimensional drawings. Lots of re-engineering the wheel if you don't have dimensions. It could take longer to design than to build.

I found this build video from Rough Cut. I was worried about calculating the angle of the runner, but it seems fairly straightforward--about 22:30min in.

I did not build a draw leaf table ... I built a big honkin' fixed size farmhouse table.

Nothing like a farmhouse table for a satisfying project. I just finished a table re-finish job for a friend. The table came with the house and was thought to be built at the same time (1870'ish). This table was ugly, almost black with age, large bulky legs, no overhang and too large of an apron with funky edge trim. He wanted to use it a his hunting club for a bench rest but I talked his wife into letting me refinish it. I really wanted to knock it apart and suprise them with a farmhouse table but they fell in love with the wood after I sanded the 1/4" of shellack off and wanted to keep it like it was. Short story, this table is typical Indian made out of Rosewood, not made with the house. It has silicone contamination everywhere and what is't contaminated is oily and repels finish. 8 coats of wipe on poly and I gave up and sanded it all down again and finished with 6 coats of shellac and waxed it. I put a $100. plate glass on top and they are happy with their pretty looking still ugly table!
