Some net scouring produced a recipe from LJ that might be interesting to test out:

5 oz of White Gorilla Glue
    36 oz of water
2 oz of GF Natural Stain

I might pick up some Gorilla glue to test it out. Was the site down today, couldn't get on all day...
I think in straight lines, but dream in curves

On scrap wood try heavily cut shellack. I seem to recall using Z??????? shellack cut to one part shellack to 10 parts gin.... the mind wonders but you get the idea. Brush on, wipe off excess if any and fine sand when dry if any grain was raised then several wiped on coats of stain. I used minwax without the solids. For the first few coats.

        Bill on the left coast.
moved in 4 months ago and still can't find a darn thing.
