    Been there ...

    I have in the past .... needed to ... ahem ... shall we say "enhance" a work-piece after gluing to ... errr ... "reduce the glaring error in joinery" ... this is particularly disturbing in an otherwise "perfect" instrument neck joint that will be subjected to the critical eye of other luthiers ...

    In those cases where the offending joint is "close", not yet dyed/stained and the final finish will be of the "darker" variety ... I have used the wood filler TimberMate with pretty good success ... it doesn't tolerate water based finish on top very well (I usually use alcohol based aniline dye) but sands well, accepts dye/stain, doesn't shrink and for small gaps like you are showing has "for me" at least served well.

      ...and there it is, Bade gave up his secret to his godly works!! LOL +1 for the Famowood. I have used it once and thought it was pretty darn cool.
