Anyone ever route plywood? Does it route okay? I need to put a lip on the inside of a hole in 3/4" plywood.

Plywood routs just fine. There are ways to minimize tearout. What do you need to do...make a rabbet (a step)?

Yes, Sir. Going to make a rabbet. Would be grateful (please) for any advice to minimize tearout.

If you already have the hole, and want to make a step at the top edge, you could just use a rabbeting bit with a bearing, like this. A handheld router would be used. How far into the face the rabbet goes can be set by the size of the bearing. For how deep the rabbet... is set by the router bit depth setting on the router.

The first pass can be a shallow one to score the surface veneer, and then the depth. I would recommend a carbide tipped bit, not HSS.
