    Four intersecting triangles

    Four intersecting triangles.
Alex F posted this last December about four interlocking triangles being a math problem. http://www.bt3central.com/showthread...ight=triangles

I Just made a bunch of the wood pieces - three fit like a glove to make one triangle. But I'm having a heck of a time assembling the interlocking pattern of four triangles. I must have a 3D visualization problem. Any hints on how to do this? I spent about three hours last night trying to assemble it... with no luck.

I glued two triangles interlocking and have six pieces loose - I figure I need to assemble then glue the last two. Its quite a bit harder working with three dimensional pieces in three dimensions I think rather than with two dimensional flat triangles in 3D space.

If your only tool is a hammer, you tend to treat all problems as if they were nails.

I have not tried it but if I were to try - my first rule would be "no triangle gets completed until all 4 are started and interlocked". In other words I would have started with 8 sticks asembled as 4 pairs trying to position those properly first and the last step would be to close all 4 triangles. Again - I did not try so I don't really know what I am saying.
