Basball safe finishes?

The head of my church's food pantry ministry is friends with baseball great Nolan Ryan, well as part of a food drive, we held a raffle for an autographed baseball from Nolan Ryan himself, and as luck would have it, I won the ball!

Now I want to build a display case for it and would like to know what is best to use to preserve the ball. Has anyone here build such a case, and what did you use?

You could build a polycarbonate box and fill it with nitrogen at your local tire dealer. Then build a wooden stand for it to live on.
