Not wood involved... But my weekend projects...

My weekend projects have left me remembering why I work in IT and gave up a career as a mechanic early on...

This weekend was spent replacing the power steering pulley on my 2001 Saturn SL2. The Chilton manual had some critical information WRONG... I managed to bust my backside trying to get the line back onto the pump (the pump had to come out to press the new one on), and found out that the lines had to come off the rack instead of the pump. So floor jack, and jackstands it was... I realized that my fat behind isn't real comfortable sliding under the car anymore... After I got the pump back on, I remembered WHY I hate replacing the drive belt on a Saturn... Not a lot of room to work in there...

After the work on the car was done, I mowed, edged, and hedge trimmed the lawn for the last time this year (I AM in Texas after all...)

After the lawn haircut happened, was a trip to the attic to drag down the Christmas lights, and up they go on the outside of the house (yeah I am a week behind, Work has been crazy). Now the outside of the house looks great, the Christmas village is set up, the lawn looks great, and the car is running like a champ so I can leave the pickup in the driveway until I need it... But BOY am I sore now!

    I sure miss being a 20-something...

I sure miss being a 20-something... But for different reasons

As Desiderata says: "Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth".

A concept LOML will NOT accept! She never stops complaining about aches & pains from doing "things".

      Don, aka Pappy,
