I know, not a huge deal, but then again, yes it is... I haven't had much time I could dedicate to shop time lately.
Too many other projects keeping me busy, stripping walls, building hot water heater stands, replacing sheet rock, texturing and the like, they have all taken their toll on my time...
Alas my lovely bride simply loves decorating for the holidays you see... and our poor old fake Christmas Tree broke it's leg at the end of last year, so I needed to build a replacement stand, and in a big hurry as I have other things that MUST get done prior to Thanksgiving, such as painting the front bathroom and exterminating an intrusion of bugs that are trying to get into the house through the weep holes. Mostly have it done, but not completely...
But storage being what it is in the house, one of the projects that will take priority is also about to be underway. A simple, glued and screwed plywood wall hung bookshelf / cabinet to store my woodworking / DIY / and automotive books and magazines. This one will be different from the others though, as I will be using wood filler over the screw holes, and priming / painting it. The idea is to keep from darkening up the shop any more than I have to...
I am hoping to get both the Christmas Tree Stand, AND the bookshelf painted at the same time. I have picked up a Husky Pro spray gun with fairly reasonable SCFM requirements that my little compressor should be able to keep up with... I just need a filter / water separator and I should be ready to shoot!
If the finish comes out nicely, I am actually considering painting the shelves and clamshell cabinets... I originally opted for natural finish, but something about painting my cabs white in the shop makes me feel like it would be easier to keep clean and bright... Of course that might just be my head malfunctioning again...
I am so eager to get through these projects, Lord willing they will all go smoothly... Then I can move on to the other projects, the big ones I need rentals and help for... Anyone wanna help a guy rip out a bunch of sheet rock, wire up a shop then insulate and hang new rock?

Only advice I can give on the paint sprayer is pick up a product called Floetrol, its a latex additive for thinning paint to spray. I used it some years ago running hundreds of feet of molding using HVLP conversion gun and it was flawless. Not too expensive as I recall, sold by paint stores and big boxes. Goes without saying, tearing out drywall, exposed insulation - get a decent mask. I just got a really sweet mask, cheap too, very comfortable and light, 3m 6200 ~$17. Good luck with your work.
