Estimating costs for upcoming projects. Sanity check.

After seeing Cubsfan's flip top planer stand project, and his estimate of what it cost him to build it, I wanted to at least get written down materials and estimated costs to see if it sounded right to other folks...

    Project #1. Wall mounted library box. 16" tall x 12" deep x 6' long.
1 sheet 4'x8' Home Depot 3/4" "Cabinet Grade" cheap sanded ply. $24.99 (verified as recently as Saturday).
1/4 sheet 3/8" ply for dividers. $0.00 (scrap I have in my sheet goods rack, needs to be sanded down, but otherwise okay.)
Primer. $0.00 I have about 10 gallons of Kilz2 still. Needs to get used anyway...
Paint. Need a price. How much paint to cover this thing? I want to paint it a gloss enamel to keep something this large from darkening my shop...
Screws (Nothing fancy here, I am planning on rabbet joints with screws for additional strength) $0.00, I have a ton of the screws I need in my small parts bins...
Total? Let's assume that I get a gallon of pure white gloss enamel from Home Depot, the Behr brand... What is that something like $32.00 right?
Total so far $56.99 with leftovers for other projects. Sound about right?

Flip Top bench tool stannds x 2 (prices are per unit).

1 sheet 3/4 cheap "Cabinet Grade" Home Depot ply. $24.99
    1/2 sheet 3/16" peg board # $12.99/2
    2 bd/ft 4/4 rift sawn oak. $6.00 ($3.00 bd/ft around here...)
    5/16" -18 x 3 eye bolts. $2.69x4 (Ace Hardware).
3/4"x3' oak hardwood dowel. $9.00 (Ace Hardware).
    220lb locking swivel casters. $6.70 x4 (Amazon).
    Star Knobs 3/16" - 18 $1.99 x 4 (Rockler).
    Total $86.01

    So what have I missed?

Consumables: Glue, Sandpaper, Brushes, Fasteners etc.

You might have enough for the jobs now, but they will need to be replaced eventually. I restocked several boxes of drywall and tan screws recently.

I think it was $5 to $8 for a small box. I just remember it adding up really quickly at checkout.

Yeah, the 1 lb boxes are $5+. I try to keep indoor and outdoor on-hand in 1 1/4, 1 5/8, 2 inch, 2 1/2 inch and 3 inch lengths. I need to write down what is missing or near empty and buy some. Adds up for sure but running to the store is aggrevating and gas isn't cheap either. A quart of Tite Bond is about the same price, II less than III, of course.

I'd love to be able to buy cabinet grade 3/4 ply for $25 a sheet. It's around $35 for the Arauco ply I used in my shop at a big box in Reno and perhaps $10 more locally for a poorer quality product.

Oh, the joys of living in California (we're having great weather, though).

Surely a project like this needs some new tool. A router may be?
