.... but I can tell you that they are pretty slack around here on requirements. You don't even have to pull a permit unless it has a dimension over 12ft.....

Gotta love the Government! I can build a 12 x 12 shed and all they want is a $20 zoning permit (I can deal with that). If I want to add 4ft to it and make it 12 x 16 they want their $20 zoning permit PLUS $93.00 for a building permit!
I didn't even ask about electrical. He said they probably wouldn't even come and inspect it!!!!
No wonder people do stuff without pulling permits!

don't complain too loudly. here, it's $95 for the building permit and $10 for each $1000 of value. homeowners are not supposed to do any electrical or plumbing. you're supposed to call licensed guys for each, even for things as simple as changing out an outlet. the prefab 8x8 shed i erected required 1) a builidng, 2) architectural drawings and 3) a final inspection fee in order to get a CO. i've often noted that you can't f*rt around here without a building permit.
