How big is your current project list?

I am not sure how on earth I will ever get mine done, and I was just wondering how big the project list most of us here has... I don't mean stuff that you are saving up for, but stuff that is actually in progress, or you at least have the material for. And where are you at in the project?

    Mine is...
#1. FWW workbench. The top is completed. The legs are completed. The cedar for the rails / spreaders is planed, but needs to be edge jointed, and ripped to width (rough Cedar 2x4s are actually 2x4, and not 1.5 x 3.5 like the plan calls for). Hopefully this will be completed this weekend, however I need to dig out the miter saw, which for now is ONLY able to be gotten to from outside the right garage door, I need to wait for the rain to stop... If I can get dry enough conditions, I will have the workbench done late next week maybe.

#2. Upholstering the kitty condo. The tier shelves are carpeted except the top (will be using fake fur and batting there to make a giant kitty bed up there). The uprights are being wrapped in 3/8" sisal rope. I ran out of rope last night. A quick trip to Home Depot fixed that, need to keep going with it.

#3. Strip, restain, and poly kitchen cabinet doors, drawer fronts, and face frames. This is taking forever. I keep waving between wanting to do this on the cheap, and building new doors and drawer fronts... LOML is getting antsy. I will be measuring everything up and doing some math this weekend. Need to talk to Houston Hardwoods and M&G to get quotes on the material needed...

#4. Programmable touch screen remote controlled thermostat. No I am not joking. This is going in this weekend... A friend of mine put one in, and it keeps temperature control FAR better than the Ace Hardware programmable one I put in about 7 years ago...

#5. Replacement ceiling fan for the kitchen. I have the fan, just need to get up off my back pockets and install it. Nice fan, but doesn't match the CURRENT motif of the kitchen. It, and the cabinets are the first elements of the kitchen remodel project. I am breaking it down into smaller, more managable pieces is all... I am hoping to squeeze this in this weekend. Depends on if LOML decides she has other places for me to be...

#6. Thien Cyclone pre separator for the HF DC. I keep picking up metal stuff in the floor sweep that scares the shorts off of me when it hits the impeller. I have the barrel, and all the fittings. This is going on a 55 gallon plastic barrel with the stainless band closure. I am going to try to use the OE lid as the cyclone lid. Wish me luck! Hoping to get this done this next week. This is another of those things I need to wait for the weather on. I do most of my routing outside and just let the dust fly...

#7. Remove wallpaper, and door trim in guest bathroom in preparation for wall / molding repair, wainscoting, and faux finishing. Looking for the round tuit to get this done. Maybe next weekend, maybe not. Removing wallpaper is a job I HATE. I would almost rather rip out the sheetrock and start over.

#8. Remove and replace original angle stops in guest bathroom, remove and replace faucets in guest bathroom. Honestly, haven't wanted to do this one. I HATE plumbing under these sinks.

#9. Mask off fireplace, mantle, etc... and drop cover ANYTHING that paint can get on, repair Hurricane Ike caused ceiling cracks and repaint ceiling in living / dining / kitchen and hallways. Drop cloth box in living room. Boxing up nick knacky stuff. In progress as I feel like it...

#10. Create "Threshold" to transition tiled areas to carpet. My former roomate had a dog that destroyed the edges where carpet met tile, and I cannot afford new carpet, or better yet, hardwood flooring yet. I keep staring at the problem, not sure how to approach it. I have the lumber, and the equipment, just not sure how to actually make it work... Any ideas?

#11. Remove 6' shop wall shelf, replace with 8', move bracket to accomodate. Move small parts bins up, and tighter together. Fill in any stupid wall anchor mistake holes, paint. In progress. I am doing this to maximize storage capacity on the walls. Seems to be working so far. The additional 2' buys me storage for my routers and router stuff.

#12. Rip 4x8 sheets of 5/8" OSB into 4x2 sections, shove those into the attic, and start laying down new insulation and decking for the attic. I need the workbench as outfeed support to safely rip the OSB... In progress.

#13. Burn or chop out remaining stumps and install fencing.

#14 Build and install new gate, opening outward into the bayou easement.

Now that's not all the projects that are planned, that is simply the stuff that I have the material to get done, or at least started on. We are doing a DIY full house renovation which will be interesting to say the least...

So fess up. How swamped are you guys and gals?

I have a very long project list, but fortunately, my list of reasons not to do most of them is even longer...

If I actually made a list, I would be so discouraged, that I would end up doing nothing at all.

I don't have so much of a list as opposed to just a bunch of things floating around in my head. My wife? Now she has a list for me, a well organized, highly involved and very large list of things for me to do.

scmhogg, I noticed your picture of the Screaming Eagle, when were you with them? I just left Campbell back in May.

Anything related to the workshop itself (including building workbenches and mobile bases) is a private love affair. It does not count as a project and is done when you have nothing important waiting on the list of real projects. That is my phylosophy.
Having said that the list of my real projects at this moment isn't that big.
Make 8' tall doors for the built-in that I recently finished.
Tile floor in one of the bathrooms so that bathroom remodel is completed.
Paint the new door in another bathroom so the other bathroom remodel is done.
Install new marble top vanity in a bedroom so bedroom remodel can be formally closed.
(I know that vanity in a bedroom is silly but it was there before me and removing the hook-up is harder than updating the vanity).
It was a busy summer but at this moment all the remodels are just about done. As usually I am couple weeks behind schedule - all the remodels were planned as summer activity.

Ugh, you are killing me by reminding me of OTHER projects in progress that somehow slipped my mind and my list...

In my case it's not build mobile base, but remove mobile base and stand. I am doing the stacking thing. So I guess it would be...

                Bench Tool stacking system
                a. Install wall standards.
                b. Remove bench tools from stands.
                c. Create 24" x 20" mount boards for bench tools and mount bench tools to them.
                d. Set up shelf brackets and slide mount boards / bench tools onto new system.

                e. Organize and clean inside (NEVER ENDING project!)
I figured that one went without saying. It is a never ending project for most of us.

                f. Relocate radio antenna to stop interference from T-8 light
                Shop lighting upgrades.
                a. Move outlet box closer to where I want it, and extend the circuit for 2 more outlet boxes. (It had 2 @ 100wat fixtures plus a garage door opener, 6 T8 fixtures won't kill it).
                b. Move the 4 existing fixtures in the parallel orientation (rotate 90 degrees, and mount evenly spaced in a row.
                c. Add the 2 fixtures that have been sitting on the shelf for a year.
                d. Replace the bulbs that are going out.

                a. Replace flex ducts on A/C system
                I have that one too.

                b. Reorganize attic storage and move Christmas storage boxes off back porch
While no boxes on the porch, With my decking project, I am trying to get seasonal stuff out of the workshop and into the attic. Similar and related. I wrapped it up into workshop cleanup, but it really is bigger than that!

                d. Weed all tree rings and add mulch
Good thing I have been working with a LOT of cedar lately! I have something like 3 55 gallon trash bags full of nothing but Cedar shavings to freshen up the mulch with...

                f. Relocate MBdRm cable outlet to wall mount and add electrical outlet at existing location
In my case, back pull the cat 5e that is fed into the MBR and replace. We had some small furry visitors use my ethernet cable as nest material. The visitors are long gone, but my ethernet port is still dead...

                3. Woodworking

                d. Build shelves and magazine holders for WW magazines

                e. REPEAT d. for craft magazines when SWMBO sees them
I couldn't have said it better myself...

                c. Continue to love Wife and dogs

                d. Continue to like cats
Those should go without saying, at least the wife and dogs thing. Not so sure about the cats though... (Okay I have a cat too... She's cool, but uppity sometimes...)

I'm like a few here that have an ongoing list. Being handy means there's always stuff to do at the house. Just when I finish painting the house, it comes time to put that second coat on.

                        2. Remodeled my bathroom but due to time and money constraints, I still need to build the shower. ( I have a second bathroom).

                        3. Have 2 Charging stations cut out but not finished, since last Christmas.

                        4. In the middle of making a Walnut slab bench for my deck.

                        7. Need to paint house. I had this scheduled until I found the Cedar for a cheap cheap price.

                        8. Need to build a storage shed.

9.Have 4 windows to replace to finish that project.

After the addition we gave Britney our old room because it was bigger and she was the oldest. 5 months later we adopted a second son. 21 months later (labor day weekend) we swapped the kids around and put Ben in with Brady. LOML wasn't happy because the baby is now bunking with brother, however, I am thrilled. I can now watch TV in my bed at night, at a decent volume and not wake up a baby.
