Kitty Condo design ideas please.

I am planning on a kitty condo, maybe 6 foot tall, I am not sure how large to make the base to make sure it is stable...

I know I want a couple of tiers, and one of those concrete form tubes, and want to include a padded tier on the very top for kitty snoozing...

Any suggestions or best practices for kitty condo design?

Yeah I've seen that one. Kind of a Greek Temple looking kitty condo...

Can anyone recommend a source for el cheapo carpet for the kitty condo? Just need a nice neutral color that is sort so the furrball will take to this instead of my furniture...

Try a carpet store, ask if they have any old samples that are discontinued and are going to be tossed.

I was thinking about using that fussy speaker cabinet carpet, but I don't want to encourage the cat to claw up my amps...

We've had cats for may years (not more than 2 at a time). In addition to numerous kitty condos, we have other things scattered around the house for them to scratch, including boards covered with carpet near furniture we'd rather not have clawed.

Answering your question directly, probably a 3'x3' base for a 6' condo. Weights of some kind around the perimeter of the base would allow you to make it a little smaller. We have a five footer at home and I think the base is 30" x 30". The big guy can't tip it over (though he is a master with the kitchen trash can!).
