    Work in progress pix

Here are pictures of the nine wall cabinet carcasses I've constructed. I tried to arrange them all on the existing counter top as they will be installed on the wall, but two of them (the corner cabinet on the right, and the one over the refrigerator) didn't fit, so I left them on the floor.

The shorter cabinet on the right goes above the microwave, and the shorter cabinet on the left will be attached to the ceiling over the peninsula. (The back on the latter is temporary; there will be glass doors on both sides when it's finished.)

I told LOML that I'd have everything done and installed by Thanksgiving. Fortunately, I had the good sense to not commit to a specific year.

[Sorry; I had to delete the pics so I could post more.]

You've been a busy guy. Looks good so far. Maybe it's just me, but some of them look pretty tall. What are their heights?

Do I see pocket hole's on the top of one of the carcasses? Are you going with face frames then? What kind of ply did you use and what finish - the insides look awesome!!! Good luck with rest of the project, so far so good!

        Very Cool

Are you going to remove the soffit?

Looked awfully tall to me, too. My thinking was the same as Mike, remove the soffit and take the cabinets to the ceiling. Wife wants that with short top sections with lights and glass doors.

They're 42" tall. (Yes, the soffit is OUTA HERE!)

They're made out of prefinished maple ply. Sides and tops are 23/32, and most of the backs are 7/32.

I'll be using biscuits for attaching the bottom rail of each face frame to the bottom of the cabinet, and pocket screws for the other 3 sides.

Very nice. Unfortunately LOML saw that, now I have another project...

                Here's more

I knocked off the two base corner cab carcasses, a big hurdle for me. The maple lazy susans match perfectly!
