I have a frame in which I have routed a rabbit on the inside. When the brearing of the router bit hits the corners you end up with rounded corners. Now I know I can chisel out the corners but I actually think the rounded corner would look good. What I am trying to learn is how to make a template that will route the insert to match the rounded corner.

the rounded corner radius will match the radius of the bit you use.
They sell corner templates for marking rounded corners, like these
http://www.rockler.com/product.cfm?page=5294&filter=corner%20template
for marking or routing specific edge radii.
Another way of doing it would be to use router bit inlay kits
http://www.rockler.com/product.cfm?p...7&filter=inlay
which have a bit and a compensating ( for the bit diameter) bushing for doing internal and external cuts off the same pattern.

If your only tool is a hammer, you tend to treat all problems as if they were nails.

If it's on the inside, would it really "look" good, or would it just look nice during assembly?
If you like the rounded corners, you could easily make the rabbit slightly wider than normal and use a shim to surround the inlay.Comment
