Building a built-in. Should I try to match the existing molding?

    The first layout with the drawers extending into the crawl space is the way I would go. The finish becomes less a point since it isn't seen unless you are in the closet. Assuming there is enough room for a hangar bar for shirts or longer items on the end wall to the right as you enter, it would give you a small dressing area. You could even add a fold up bench/seat on the closet/room wall.

      Yeah, I was going to go that route because the look would be less important. But it really is cramped in there. The closet is only 80" high, and 30" wide. So that wouldn't leave much space for the drawers to be pull out into, and it'd really feel cramped in there.

      Also, I like the idea of adding display space without taking away floor space.
