Bunk Bed bolts? Need a specific kind

Hopefully the masses at BT3Central can help. I have a bunkbed where the allen screw socket has worn due to excessive putting up and taking down my dughter's bunkbed.

I can't seem to find them online. I did find a company that sells the whole hardware kit, but I just need these bolts.

    They are 1/4-20 x 102mm (4")

Here is what they look like.

Don't remember the proper name off the top of my head, but Lowe's has them in the specialty hardware drawers.

Best I can see torque head bolts and if that is correct.. Pappy nailed it at Lowe's in the little specialty boxes above (usually) the standard open bins that have bolts..nut.. lag screws.. etc.

If they don't have them you probably can find them at Reid Tool Co. which carry about every size.. shape.. etc. of nuts.. bolts.. handles.. pulleys.. and anything else associated with putting a machine together.

You may have a problem finding them in what appears to be a brassy color. If you can't get them in the antique brass, you could pull out existing and shoot all with black (whatever) enamel.

      Good luck...

are you sure they are 1/4-20?

these are metric and aren't quite long enough for you, but it's a start.

All 1/4-20 threaded with a 4mm hex drive recess
Can't tell from your pic for sure but I imagine your bolt goes into a cross-dowel...

I cannot totally tell from the picture, but...if they are bugle shaped, kind of like a drywall screw on the head, they are called flat head socket cap screws. If they are flat on top, and on the bottom of the head, they are called low head socket cap screws. Fastenal, McMaster, Grainger should all have them.

Lowes does have them, but they are only 2" long.

As for someone that asked if they were 1/4-20, I used the guage at the store stnd and metric and it fit the best in the 1/4-20

              They do fit into cams.

Lee Valley ones are close, but not long enough I need 102mm

I think I mght try the Rockler ones Connector Bolts - 3-1/2'' (8 pack) - They might be long enough (cam sits at 3") and there is a local Rockler store here in St. Louis.

Wife wants to sell the bunk beds and I feel bad about selling it to someone and have them deal with the rounded out allen sockets. Shoudl make the one that rounded them out find them :0

              Thanks for all your help.
