      Hi Alex,

I'm making something along those lines myself for the grandkids. What you're doing sounds a little more elaborate than what I'm working on. I found plans in a library book, and it does show what they call a fire pole. It is simply made from 1" diameter galvanized pipe, a galv. floor flange (to attach the top of the pole to the structure), a 16" nipple, and a 90 degree elbow. The bottom is set in a footing of concrete. Good luck.

Do you know about kickback? Ray has a good writeup here... https://www.sawdustzone.org/articles...mare-explained
