Any pipefitters here??? (cyclone help needed)

I'm ussually good at finding what I'm looking for on the net, but I have no idea how to research this .....

If you look at the seperator ring on a DC, where the Intake port is cut into the ring, I need to be able to draw plans for that tube and the oddball teardrop shape hole that gets cut into the seperator ring to accept the tube.

I have a few ideas on how to fudge this on a 'make it fit' basis, but I'd really like to know is if there's a fairly easy way of plotting the points to get a flat drawing while I'm still in the planning stages.

What I'll actually be doing is cutting a 6" intake into a 20" straight sided cyclone barrel.

Nevermind .... it's amazing what you can figure out on your own during a slow day at work.

Turns out I was making this entirely too hard, I've got a plan now ..... more to come ....
