How to dish out stool?

The one that harbor freight has is about 4 -41/2" in dia. Its made like a round chain saw. It should be in the power tool section, by the saw blades. Its called lancelot, The number on the package is 45822. HTH

If you want to ‘dish’ it out, that is make a spherical depression, as opposed to making it “tractor seat” dished out, I’ve got a jig that might help. The principle is making a hanging swinging router plate that you could hand on a hook on a rafter over your workbench and then clamp the seat centered under it and just swing it to and fro and back and forth and it should carve out a near perfect ‘dish’, the distance between the hook and the tip of the bit will determine the radii of the cut. If you wanted to make a cylindrical cut I guess you might try moving only in one plane. The drawing is just a suggestion, any scrape lumber will work. It might be stiffer with support 2x4 on both sides; this is just a starting point.
