Working in Daughters Kitchen

I have gotten the drain, electric, hot and cold water run into storage for washing machine. Yesterday I moved the washer with help, it was heavy. While I had help I set dishwasher in place.
It leaves room for a base cabinet of almost 12", which I will have to custom build.

The problem I'm having is She wants a bar on another wall. It would be 78" long. I have a piece of 1" thick cypress 14 inches wide by 12' long. I was going to use that for the top, screw and glue 3/4" plywood under for stability. I am going to edge band it with 3/4" cedar and use clear poly, several coats to finish.

I want to make a couple of supports to hold it up and on the wall, no legs. Does anyone have an idea for some type of angle brackets for support? Thanks, Bill

Bill, you're gonna have a lot of that 1" cypress left over. I think I'd cut two or three brackets out of that, and drill Kreg holes to mount them to the wall (if the studs line up OK). A couple more Kreg holes along the top edges of the brackets to secure them to the ply layer. This way, the brackets can be made to match the bar top. You could also inlay or otherwise attach some of the cedar banding to match the edge, if there's a contrast between the two woods.
