    Good Casters

I'm looking to get 2 fixed and 2 swivel/brake 4" casters for a DP cabinet and I was looking at these swivels.

Does anyone use either of these, and which is the better one?

I have the 3" versions of the swivel casters with and without brakes (H0693 and H0689) under my DP120 cabinet and they are decent casters. I prefer to have the manuverability of swivels at all 4 corners.

      I actually prefer these:

They lock the swivel motion as well as the rolling motion. That might not be that big of a deal for a drill press cabinet, where you don't generally have much lateral movement (as opposed to something like a mobile base for a saw). But they do lock nice & solid.

I have and really like the shepard ones www.shepherdcasters.com
The reason is the locking mechanism is on the wheel instead of beside it.
I find the side lock style awkward. But that could have to do with my size 15 shoes.
Anyhoo, Lee Valley also has nice locking casters.

I guess I should have looked at Mikes post. THose are what I'm talking about.

The first (red wheel) ones are total lock, too.

Yep, thats the H0695. I'll be getting 2 of those for the front
and 2 H0690(fixed) for the back.
The reason I'm using the fixed instead of the swivel for the back is because I will be mounting levelers next to the casters in the back, plus I won't be moving the DP around that much.

I looked at Grizzly for casters the other day and was thinking about threaded stem casters. Seems like all their casters have metric threads.
Unless they give you the nuts (which it appears they don't) it's a minor hassle getting metric threaded nuts, I'll go wth SAE threaded casters from another vendor.
