I decided to build it out of 1-1/2" plywood (i.e. 3/4" plywood laminated). I have a nice Baltic plywood (not quite Baltic Birch). It looks to be almost all void free. If there are slight voids, I will fill them during the staining process. Although I would like to get the veneer off the top and bottom before I start, I might just have to live with it. It will make small bands between plywood layers. I guess very light passes on the planer would work, for all parts but the full 'h' chair leg pieces. How bad is plywood glue on planer blades?
1" thick plywood?
