    Ryobi Drum Sander

I picked this unit up from a guy who used it about 6 times. I wanted it for a cabinet project. I ran about 30 bf through the sander. Works great, I just need the space in my shop. $300. Located in Lansdale PA Zip 19438.
    Thanks
    Joe

I'd like to have it if you would consider shipping UPS. I'd pay for your bother as well.

I have one guy coming to look at it tomorrow (had it on Cragslist a while back).
If he does not come, it's yours.
I just need to find out how to ship it.
      It must weight 75 pounds.

I'm still in the market for one. Any brand really. Only a small one though. 16" or smaller. If anyone hears of one going half price like this, let me know please.
I can buy a little 10/20 locally for $695 if all else fails. Will look for another month. Thanks.

              Lee,

Have you considered building one? I've seen lots of designs for the bridge type thickness sanders, but not so much on cantilever type sanders... I'd love to see some designs, succesful builds. I keep toying with drum sander ideas but really want something that can do 32" wide so a 16/32 cantilever would be ideal...

I have considered that. The problem is that I am in the middle of converting my second mill to cnc right now along with finishing out my bigger shop.
Too much on my plate timewise to build one.
I too have seen a few other designs.
The only difficult part I see would be the table/conveyor part. A old treadmill might make that job easier.

                  Yeah...

Well, for what it's worth, I wish Ryobi would bring back the WDS1600. I could sure use a machine like that...

will this work on a wds1600

                    i saw this on amazon:

                    http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000H5LY08/...2520_pe_vfe_t1

the jet pre-cut rolls i ordered for my 1600 16/32 worked fine, but this is noticeably cheaper. i realize the rolls must be cut to fit, but is there anything i'm not aware of that would prevent these from working on the subject drum sander?
there's a solution to every problem.......you just have to be willing to find it.

They will work, but a 35' roll at $16.50 may not be as good of a deal as it seems.

Each "wrap" requires 90" of sandpaper. A 35' roll yields 4 full wraps, plus 60" of waste. That equals $4.12 per "wrap."

Of course, you can use the waste for other sanding operations, or even sharpening by the scary sharp method.

If you order from SuperGrit.com, you can order by the yard.

Ten yards (360") of 150 grit from SuperGrit will cost you $1.40 per yard, or $14.00 with no waste. That equals $3.50 per "wrap."

I don't know what the current shipping rate is. I ordered enough three years ago such that I haven't had to order again. I have no complaints, and their service was great.
