      I'll bet he found out what I did. Digital requires some mental adjustment where a mechanical dial indicator is actually easier to read for the average woodworker.

        Unit works perfect, exactly as it is suppose to, and in like new condition, but Richard hit the nail on the head, my poor mind just doesn't always seem to make the mental conversions. Rockler has a newer version (and much more expensive, about $35.00) that also shows fractions. Bought one over the weekend, so the old one is on the block.

        The model seels for $16 + at HF, sometimes going down to $14 + on sale. $10.00, I think is a good deal, especially if in the Twin Cities area and local pickup.

            I used Excel to print out a conversion chart and glued it to the lid. It took about 3 minutes and didn't cost anything. I must use my HF 6" digital caliper more than any other tool I have.
