    Don't turn BT3Central into EBAY

    I have a suggestion.
Organizing auctions is not a trivial task. That is why there is ebay - they do it for living. When I want to auction something - I use ebay. When I want to offer something for sale here at the forum - I post an asking price. Postings like "best offer gets it" create nothing but confusion. Other forums have rules prohibiting such posts. I suggest to ask moderators to introduce such rule here.
    Opinions welcome.

I think we should be allowed to post asking price with the qualification "Or Best Offer" to make it clear that the posted prices may be negotiable.

In my case, I'm not trying to auction anything, i.e. getting people to bid against each other. First person to either meet my asking price or provide reasonable offer gets the stuff.

    Just my opinion though.....

PS: This thread should probably be in another forum given its nature.

I'm fine with things as they are as far as the member classified postings.

And this topic would probably have been a better fit for "around the water cooler".

I agree things are fine in the classifieds.
If I could change anything it would be to get those people from posting "Is this a bargain?" in the bargains section.

Or gloats in the Bargain Alerts that others can't get.

          Per the posting rules:

Please, no "gloats" unless it is a deal that others can get. The items posted should be new and/or refurbished merchandise, and must be available to more that just the posting individual.

There are times that it's a fine line between what is and isn't a gloat. For instance, if I got something at a great price on monday afternoon, and someone living nearby whom may or may not be on the forum could also do so in that time period.

Or the "they have 1 left" type of posts, or "dunno how many are left", these I would think arn't technically gloats, but probably useless posts for 99+% of the forum.
